50 years ago - The Monday Morning Memo

Many thanks to all those who have viewed and commented on the video. Some have said that its not ‘live’. That is quite true. As the video description says it is “Live vocal to track”. In the ’70’s it was common practice to use what was called a ‘TV track’ for these kinds of shows. Everything except the lead vocal was a playback of the recording with a mix made for TV appearances. That mix did not include the lead vocal. So, my lead vocal is live and everything else is track. Cheers and thanks for watching – Elliot Lurie

Shocking Blue was a Dutch rock band formed in The Hague in 1967.
The lead singer is Maria Elisabeth Ender, better known as Mariska Veres.
