The Monday Morning Memo

I am writing from your future to let you know there is hope for you. The path will be treacherous and full of obstacles. Remember that the Dark Side known as the Straights are deadly serious. Negativity is their food.

Humor was officially banned in 2022.Comedy clubs were closed down, books containing humor were burned and finally anything and anyone that caused laughter to happen was criminalized by the Straights.

“It doesn’t take much to turn a smile into a frown” was their motto.

In response, a group of rebels found each other and formed an alternative movement. We were called Humorists. Our existence was illegal. Our lives were in danger.

Acts of laughter inducing humor were carried out by specially trained members. It was serious humor in a serious time. Nothing better than hearing laughter erupt from a Serious event.

A humoristic style that came to be known as “Kung Foolery” originated during this period of social war. These rebellious Humoristic arts masters were hunted down and sent to rehabilitation centers. Humor masters who managed to escape fled into exile or went into hiding.

The rebels trained in secret, inventing new ways to create laughter and exploit weaknesses in the serious nature of life.

My mentor established a secret school to teach those who wanted to learn the many styles of comedy and humor. Each style was learned and kept in the living library at “Laughing Place Lodge”. Cloud hidden, whereabouts unknown.

We read books, watched videos and practiced routines every day. We became one with the style we chose to study.

There were many battles at this time between the Straights and the Humorists culminating in the Dark Night of Humor’s Soul – all sense of humor appeared to be lost forever but when the bottom of the barrel was hit a funny thing happened. I didn’t die! An inner smile spread to my face. I floated up and out of the barrel.

We battled for years but we won.

The road back home was still full of obstacles and tests, but I could feel I was on my way home and carrying within me the knowledge that laughter is an energy that gives life to us and spreads across our personal networks. And it is immediate. Like turning on a light in a dark room.

As the deadly serious lost their grip, laughter was released and spread across the land. Everything felt lighter.

A new advanced style of humor was born. Humor combined with Wisdom. Meta Humor.

Taught to the most advanced students at “Camp Furthest Out.” From the many a few became Masters. These Masters remain with us to pull us through the Dark Times. When you are ready they will know.

Stay aware. Be mindful. These Masters exist and will be of great help to those whose nature resonates with theirs.

In the darkest of times, laughter remains within and will one day awaken you. That day your mentor appears.

You will be called to a new adventure.Your response will dictate your future.

We await your arrival.
