Most people over the age of 40 know this song, but few of them can tell you who sung it. Known for their well-crafted, melodic soft rock singles,
Bread put 13 songs on the Billboard Hot 100 chart between 1970 and 1977.
But this song sounds more like Three Dog Night than soft, white, Bread.
As long as we’re playing Old Song Trivia, did you know that Three Dog Night took its name from a phrase used by the aborigines of the Australian Outback to describe a night so cold that it required huddling with 3 dogs to keep warm? And the band had 3 lead singers. FACT: Danny Hutton’s girlfriend suggested the name after watching a TV documentary about Australia.
“And you’ll know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
And if the truth doesn’t do it, David McInnis will definitely set you free.
So my advice is, ‘Have a good attitude and find reasons to be happy.
Invent reasons to be happy, if need be, but be happy. At all costs, be happy.’
That’s my advice.

PS – 3 Dog Night is a great band. As a matter of fact,
any band with Dog in its name is a great band. Just sayin’.
