Throughout his life of 70 years,
Julius Rosenwald was often overheard quoting Psalm 15.
“LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the LORD, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.”

Hi, Roy—
Thank you. Especially potent missive this morning.
And two of my major pet peeves lanced like boils.
One: the gutting of Disney.
The trickle-down of the Eisner mentality: back then, a friend of mine was working on movie sets in Hollywood. Whenever he worked on a Disney movie, and they took a truck of props and such back to Disney, the truck was met by an accountant. The accountant would stand there with a list of every single item that had gone onto the truck, and check off every single item that came off the truck. He said the accountant would literally count things like pencils.
“This truck left with 50 pencils. You’ve brought back only 17. Where are the rest of the pencils?”
“Dude, they’re PENCILS.”
Two: the gutting of Sears.
Jay Leno’s single best joke ever: the merger of Sears and K-Mart is like taking two drunks and tying them together in the hope they’ll walk straight.
Happy National Chcolate Chip Day.
Cheers,
Blaine Parker
