This is an idea. The idea that the collective is greater than one. Around the surface sits the brilliant mind of individuals. Minds filled with ideas, passions, love, hate, and despair. From Jesus, the disciples and loved ones in your kitchen, we share bread, we share wine, we share victory, we share defeat. Isn’t it amazing how something so basic can transcend you to a world of thoughts, dreams, and what-ifs? The impossible that started as a half-hearted joke in conversation and culminated in a toast to your achievement. It’s sturdy and there for you when you get news of the new baby and when you get news of a loved one diagnosed with cancer. This is more than wood, paint, nails, screw and glue. This is history, future, it is now…. This is life.
