Dear Roy and Pennie,
This is the current status of the school land you helped us to buy: we are still waiting for the land certificate to be issued by the government but after almost two years of waiting we found a lawyer who has helped us draw up some paperwork that will help us plead our case if we are ever to be challenged on our decision to move forward with the building project. The lawyer is convinced it is safe for us to move forward with planning the design of the school and even for us to build semi-permanent structures (the entire playground) while we wait for the certificate to be issued. This past weekend I went with 2 architects, a friend who built a great, natural playground in central Java, and an environmental engineer to plan out the layout of the buildings and ideas for the playground. I am so, so excited. We’ve been in a holding pattern for so long that it is hard to believe it is really beginning.
