“Since I believe we’re entering into/already in a recessionary phase, I’m going back and reading memos from 2007 and 2008. Lots of applications for today (or maybe that’s just my confirmation bias speaking). Either way, it was a fun walk down memory lane. Do you ever read your old stuff?”
I responded, “Strangely, no. Do you think I should?”

I don’t know if this next business cycle is going to be anything like 2008/2009, but it’s interesting to go back and consider what I was doing just before, what I did in response that worked, and what I did in response that didn’t work. But that’s just a business example. You could do the same for recurring life patterns, too. I don’t write a weekly memo but I have kept personal planners/journals for the last 6 years, so it can be interesting to look back on things even 5 years ago. My only regrets are 1) I didn’t start sooner, and 2) I didn’t capture my thoughts and ideas, only my actions and activities. You have a treasure trove of real-time thinking that has been captured and documented. 😊
