“A poor life this if, full of care,
we have no time to stand and stare.”
– William Henry Davies
William Henry Davies was a Welsh poet who spent his life as a tramp in the United Kingdom and a hobo in the United States. He was born when Leo Tolstoy was 23 years old. Davies became known as SuperTramp in 1908 when he published, The Autobiography of a SuperTramp. Sixty-one years later, the rock band SuperTramp was founded by another Davies; Rick Davies.
