Whittington’s office becomes The Toad and Ostrich pub
at 5pm every Friday. Last week the gang discussed
song lyrics and told impossible stories.
Now that I think about it,
that’s what they do every week.
The guy in the hat silhouetted against the window is Tom Trine, the academy’s new groundskeeper and guardian. Whittington is looking for a song on his iPhone. Next to him is Jacob “Boxwine” Harrison, also in a hat. Standing with his elbow on the bar is Spraytan Wright, the wizard’s chief media buyer. On the first sofa is Dave, a professional rap artist, and the tall guy in the green shirt with a face like a Confederate general is Andrew Harrison. The wizard told you about him a few weeks ago in a Monday Morning Memo. The last face you’ll see is Dave “Cold Hand” Nevland, the sound mixer. Cold Hand has been the wizard’s right-hand man for radio production for more than a decade now. The wizard lets Cold Hand freelance, too, in case you were looking for help with your radio ads. Andrew will answer when you call 512-295-5700. Just tell him you want to talk to Dave Nevland.
